The $64,290 special edition offers several enhancements, including 32-inch all-terrain tires.
Jeep has unveiled the 2025 Wrangler 4xe Backcountry special edition.
Based on the Sahara trim, it includes features like steel bumpers, rock rails, and 32-inch tires.
Customers will also discover auxiliary switches, an Alpine audio system, and a Jeep Power Box.
The Jeep Wrangler has seen a decline in popularity, with the Ford Bronco impacting its sales. Last year, the Wrangler's sales dropped by 3%, while its rival from Dearborn saw a 3.3% increase. Nonetheless, the company is responding with a new special edition.
Referred to as the Wrangler 4xe Backcountry, this model builds on the Sahara trim by merging high-end features with off-road enhancements. These upgrades are significant, as the four-door SUV is equipped with steel bumpers, rock rails, and a Mopar grille guard. The special edition also features distinctive 20-inch wheels fitted with 32-inch General Grabber A/T tires.
The design updates continue with a body-colored hardtop and the option for a body-colored power roof. Additionally, Backcountry graphics adorn the hood, fenders, and rear swing gate.
Interior enhancements are subtle, featuring auxiliary switches, Mopar slush mats, and a nine-speaker Alpine audio system. The model is also equipped with a 12.3-inch Uconnect 5 infotainment system that includes GPS navigation and off-road trail guides.
Other key features include the Trailer Tow package, a front TrailCam, and a Jeep Power Box, which connects to the Wrangler's charging port and functions as a large power bank with two 120-volt outlets.
Similar to the standard Wrangler 4xe, the special edition boasts a plug-in hybrid powertrain composed of a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, a 17.3 kWh battery pack, and an eight-speed automatic transmission with an integrated electric motor. This configuration allows the vehicle to generate 375 hp (280 kW / 380 PS) and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm) of torque, with an all-electric range of approximately 22 miles (35 km).
Production will be capped at 5,800 units for North America, with a starting price of $64,290 in the U.S. The model will also be available in Canada, retailing for $73,895 CAD.
