The previous owner had it repainted in a distinctive shade of green, giving it a fresh appearance.
Automotive history is filled with ambitious visionaries who aimed to create their own car brands—some driven by grand ideas, others fueled by more optimism than practicality. In the 1960s, Swiss race car driver Peter Monteverdi made his attempt, and although his company lasted only 15 years, it produced some truly intriguing vehicles.
One of the most notable is the Monteverdi High Speed 375 L, an attractive grand tourer offered in various configurations, including this sophisticated 2+2 model. This specific car, now available for auction in Switzerland, was displayed at the Monteverdi Museum in Basel for several years before being released in 2016.
Resembling a blend of the Lamborghini Espada and the original Aston Martin V8 Vantage, the High Speed 375 L features a long hood, a relatively short front overhang, and a pronounced rear overhang. It has been repainted in a beautiful green by a prior owner and is fitted with 15-inch magnesium wheels. It looks stunning and continues to be as impressive now as it was when first launched.
Looking inside, the cabin features tan leather on the seats, door panels, and transmission tunnel. A classic wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel and air conditioning enhance the luxurious atmosphere of the era.
Powering this vehicle is a 440 cubic-inch Chrysler Magnum V8. This engine produced 375 hp and 480 lb-ft (651 Nm) back in its heyday and channels its power through a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential to the rear wheels. The listing notes that the car has traveled roughly 72,000 km (~45,000 miles) since it was first made, with an engine service performed just last year.
