The E7X is set to launch next year, becoming the second model from the new AUDI brand.

Recently, Chinese officials revealed the upcoming AUDI E7X. It will feature a dual-motor all-wheel drive system generating 671 horsepower and is expected to be equipped with a cabin technology similar to the E5, including a wide display and an AI assistant.

AUDI's newly established Chinese sub-brand showcased the E SUV concept at the Guangzhou Auto Show last month, and the production version has now been disclosed by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology under the name E7X, which closely resembles the original concept.

The design is easily identifiable, maintaining a familiar front with a fully enclosed grille. However, unlike the concept, the production model does not feature the complete light surround. The crossover also includes a modified lower intake with what looks like an active shutter.

In terms of features, the vehicle will have both traditional and digital side mirrors and new sensors or cameras on the front fenders, alongside a roof-mounted Lidar sensor, flush door handles, and a selection of wheel sizes that go up to 22 inches.

Regarding dimensions, the E7X measures 198.8 inches (5,049 mm) in length, 78.6 inches (1,997 mm) in width, and 67.3 inches (1,710 mm) in height, with a wheelbase of 120.5 inches (3,060 mm). This makes the production version slightly smaller and shorter than the concept.

For comparison, it is 0.8 inches (20 mm) shorter than the current Q7, but its wheelbase is 2.6 inches (66 mm) longer.

The MIIT hasn't provided interior images, but it confirmed that at least one variant will feature a four-seat configuration.

While there's limited information available, the E5 Sportback includes a large 27-inch display and an AI assistant called AUDI Assistant, so it's reasonable to expect similar technology in the E7X.

The E5 also offers 3D wood trim, a dual wireless phone charger, and an ambient lighting system with fragrances and concealed air vents.

As for powertrains, the images depict both quattro and non-quattro versions, suggesting an entry-level model with a rear-mounted motor generating 402 horsepower (300 kW / 408 PS) and an all-wheel drive variant with 671 horsepower (500 kW / 680 PS) capable of reaching a top speed of 143 mph (230 km/h).

The MIIT did not elaborate further on the crossover, but the concept featured a 109 kWh battery that provided a CLTC range of over 435 miles (700 km) and had an 800-volt electrical system, allowing for 199 miles (320 km) of range with just a ten-minute fast charge.

AUDI has confirmed that the production model will be launched next year, so more details are anticipated in the months ahead.
