Cupra has unveiled the new Leon VZ and VZ TCR models.

Both are equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that produces 321 horsepower.

The VZ TCR model features removable rear seats to reduce weight.

If you're a fan of the Volkswagen Golf R but prefer a front-wheel drive with a unique name, you're in luck, as Cupra has rolled out the new Leon VZ TCR.

Promoted as the “most powerful front-wheel drive Leon ever,” this limited edition hatchback honors the similarly named race car and boasts a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine generating 321 hp (239 kW / 325 PS) and 310 lb-ft (420 Nm) of torque.

It is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, allowing the vehicle to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in just 5.6 seconds. The car features an "unrestricted top speed," but the manufacturer has not disclosed its maximum velocity.

Additionally, the Leon VZ TCR comes with adaptive chassis control and an electronically controlled front differential lock, complemented by a strut bar and a high-performance Akebono braking system featuring six-piston calipers.

The racing heritage is evident with a front splitter, distinctive side skirts, and a rear wing, along with a copper-colored quad-tip exhaust system and lightweight wheels fitted with performance tires.

Buyers will also notice body side graphics, carbon fiber mirror caps, and a dark chrome Cupra badge beneath the hood, accompanied by a VZ TCR badge on the liftgate.

While Cupra has not shared images of the interior, the Leon VZ TCR is equipped with CUPBucket front seats featuring four-point harnesses. It also includes a uniquely laser-engraved serial number on the door panel and removable rear seats, contributing to weight savings on track days.

Production will be capped at 499 units, with the car set to launch late next year.

A More Accessible Cupra Leon VZ

For those who find the TCR variant to be excessive, a more mainstream Leon VZ is available. Cupra has not provided extensive details, but this version features the same engine as the Leon VZ TCR while likely forgoing some of the more extreme enhancements.

This model will be limited to 1,500 units and is expected to arrive in the first quarter of 2026.
