Wreckreation, an upcoming driving game set to launch on October 28, 2025, will feature an expansive open world, arcade-style crash mechanics, and a completely imaginative track construction system. Expect loops, jumps, and more. While it may not reach the absurdity of Mario Kart, it appears to blend elements of Burnout and Forza Horizon with a generous Hot Wheels flair.
Today, THQ Nordic released a new trailer confirming the game's release date and platforms, which include PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The official tagline reads: “Wreckreation is the home of your very own MixWorld, a 400 square kilometer racing environment for you to create, modify—and destroy.”
The game is being developed by Three Fields Entertainment, known for the beloved Burnout series. Anything from them is worth a look if you enjoy racing games.

It seems that the cars are unlicensed but closely resemble iconic designs. However, the real draw appears to be the extensive customization options for both the vehicles and their driving environments. If the idea of constructing gravity-defying tracks and smashing cars into delightful bits intrigues you, this game is likely to provide plenty of enjoyment.
In a recent press release, the studio described a feature that suggests the game may have some influence from Fortnite regarding real-time construction:
“…Wreckreation takes it a step further with its innovative Live Mix feature. Players can open the construction menu at any time to shape their own racing paradise. Build highways that soar into the clouds, design loops, ramps, and jumps, or position billboards, houses, decorations, and even colossal dinosaur statues. There are no limits to creativity—and everything can be shared. Invite friends to race, crash, and explore your personal racing wonderland together.”
While I usually prefer racing games that are somewhat grounded in reality (like Need for Speed or Forza Horizon), I can definitely see myself getting absorbed in creating outrageous tracks and witnessing cars being pulverized into pixels.
Although the official trailer highlights the excitement, a YouTuber’s overview entitled “Everything We Know So Far” from a few months ago provides better insight into what the user experience will entail.
